• Opera SB Closes 20|21 Season with Das Rheingold•
An epic ending and an auspicious beginning.
In March 2020, our company was the last to produce a live performance in Santa Barbara before theater closures that have lasted for more than a year. In June 2021 we will be the first to bring live opera back on to our beloved stages.
While many opera companies remained dark, Opera SB continued to produce live opera outside of traditional venues thanks to the courage and creativity of our Board and staff, the dedication of our artists, and the generosity of our donors.
We now invite you to join us as we conclude this extraordinary season with a legendary opera. Come celebrate the tenacity of the performing arts, and be the first to experience opera inside a theater again with our company premiere of Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold. Join us amongst gods and giants in a struggle for power and possession of one golden ring in this adaptation of Wagner’s majestic score by Graham Vick and Jonathan Dove on Sunday, June 27, at the Lobero Theatre.
