Pianist and coach Katherine Kozak enjoys an active and varied career that brings her to opera companies and schools across the U.S. During the summers, she is a regular member of the music staff at The Glimmerglass Festival, where she is Principal Coach/Accompanist, and faculty for their prestigious Young Artists Program. Throughout her career, Katherine has functioned as rehearsal pianist, assistant conductor, coach, recital partner, chorus master and recitative accompanist, and her wide range of abilities has brought her to the music staffs of Florida Grand Opera, Dallas Opera, Opera Colorado, Central City Opera and Santa Fe Opera, among others. In addition to her involvement in Young Artist training programs at professional companies, she has also helped educate and develop signers at the university level. Appointments have included Visiting Assistant Professor at The University of Miami (FL), Associate Coach at The Juilliard School, and coach at Baldwin-Wallace University (OH). Kozak has enjoyed collaborating with singers since age 11, when she began accompanying The Singing Angels in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
