Soprano Elena Galván is a native of Ithaca NY. Most recently, she was a 2012 Studio Artist at Opera Saratoga, covering the role of Grittly in Offenbach’s Le 66. She has also studied at the Aspen Music Festival and School, covering the role of Nannetta (Falstaff). Her repertoire includes Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Clarice (Il mondo della luna), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Le Feu (L’Enfant et les sortilèges), Lucy (The Telephone), and The Fox in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince. Elena was the soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and performed for Opera Krakowska in Poland. Elena has been recognized by the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (San Francisco District). Elena holds a degree from Ithaca College, where she studied with Patrice Pastore, and is completing her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), where she is a student of Catherine Cook.
