In anticipation of An American Dream, Opera Santa Barbara, The Japanese American Citizens League (SB) and Santa Barbara Toba Sister City Organization will present an introduction to the opera and a Community Conversation centering on Japanese American incarceration during WWII.

The event is free and open to the public and will be on Saturday, February 4, at 2PM at the Faulkner Gallery, Santa Barbara Public Library* featuring incarceration survivors Hideko Malis and Roke Fukumura and hosted by Nina Yoshida Nelsen. Nina is the Co-founder and President of Asian Opera Alliance and will be starring in An American Dream as Hiroko Kobayashi. The Community Sponsor for this event is the Santa Barbara Japanese American Citizens League (JACL).
