The world’s sexiest gypsy, a bull fighter, and a soldier with a fatal obsession ignite the Granada stage in Opera Santa Barbara’s grand season opener. This production will be staged by Tara Faircloth and Kostis Protopapas conducts the OSB premiere of Puccini’s only “operetta.”
Brundibár is an opera written for children with one adult part. It is the tale of a poor family whose children seek money to buy milk for their sick mother, only to have their quest thwarted by an evil organ grinder named Brundibár. With help of three intelligent animals, the children defeat the unjust bully and return home in triumph. Tickets for this production will go on sale November 15, 2016.
