"Puccini's Women" An Original Production

Opera Santa Barbara, working in collaboration with the Puccini Foundation in Torre del Lago and the province of Lucca, Italy, is pleased to present the US Premiere of Le donne di Puccini. This remarkable show features tenor Carlo Scibelli as Giacomo Puccini as he reminisces about his life and career. Five sopranos appear throughout the evening demonstrating different aspects of Puccini’s genius and his relationships with these characters he created. Music from Le Villi, Edgar, Manon Lescaut, La bohème, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, La fanciulla del West, La rondine, Il tabarro, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi and Turandot.
