• Opera Santa Barbara Elects Christina Omdahl to Board of Directors and Welcomes Board Intern Eric Capelle •
Opera Santa Barbara is honored to welcome Christina Omdahl, a Practice Manager and Human Resources Manager with Alta Orthopaedics to its Board of Directors. Her election took place last month.
“I am delighted to welcome Christina to OSB’s Board. Her expertise in the field of Human Resources and business management are skills that we are indeed fortunate to obtain. Christina shares our passion for opera and community involvement and we look forward to the years ahead with her on our Board,” says Governance Chair Sandy Urquhart.
Christina is a Santa Barbara local and a fan of opera–her parents have been long-time subscribers of OSB. Christina received a BA in Psychology from Mills College and an MA in Counseling Leadership from Saint Mary’s College. Her work in Clinical Research brought her to the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute as a Regulatory Associate with previous experience as a research coordinator and monitor in urology, CNS, and oncology studies. As the current HR Manager at Alta Orthopedics, she brings a passion for organizational efficiency and productivity.
Continuing with OSB’s Board Intern program, the company is excited to add new intern, Eric Capelle. Eric is currently the Youth Engagement Coordinator with Congregation B’nai B’rith where he spent his entire childhood. After graduating with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University and a year-long stint as the Youth and Music Fellow at Temple Israel in Capetown, South Africa, he’s returning to CBB for this leadership role. As a Santa Barbara local, Eric saw his first OSB production in 4th Grade when his class was invited to a final dress rehearsal. As a fan of classical music performances and with his work engaging young adults, Eric is excited to bring his experience and passion for opera to OSB.
Opera Santa Barbara is excited for its upcoming 20|21 Season and new calendar. OSB opens with the world’s most popular opera, Verdi’s classic La Traviata( September 25 & 27) at the Granada Theatre followed by two OSB premieres at Lobero Theatre: Mark Adamo’s Little Women (January 15 & 17) based on the American classic, and closes with Donizetti’s sparkling comedy, The Daughter of the Regiment (March 26 & 28).
