Opera Santa Barbara will again present free noontime concerts featuring members of our 2012 Studio Artists Program. Don’t miss these opera-stars-of-tomorrow performing popular arias and ensembles. These one-hour concerts are offered free to the general public.

Our season continues with our “Opera on the Go” series. The monthly program gives unique insight into the world of opera by delving into the history and performance of the art form through round-table discussions, lecture presentations, and live performance demonstrations. This unique approach offers a fun and educational evening out, and is designed to be both a stand-alone experience and to compliment OSB’s season offerings. The 75-minute talks begin at 5:30 pm and are held at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, OSB’s co-sponsor for this exciting series.

Stephanie Tcharos, Associate Professor of Baroque Opera at UCSB, explores the enduring popularity of the Orpheus legend, and Gluck’s operatic incarnation.
Admission to each talk is $15/person, $12/Opera Subscribers & Museum Members, $5/Students with ID. Tickets only available at the door.
