Opera Santa Barbara's 2008/2009 ushers in a new era of opera with our first season in the newly restored Granada Theatre. Our expansion into the Granada marks a "cominig of age" for OSB, as we mount larger-scale productions featuring an expanded orchestra and chorus, plus larger and more lavish sets and costumes. Our 2008/2009 Season features three of the world's most beloved operas: Mozart's The Magic Flute (in a special family production,) Bizet's Carmen and Lehar's The Merry Widow. We are also hosting a special celebration in honor of Puccini's 150th birthday. For each production we have assembled an extraordinary team of singers, conductors and stage directors who come together to make this our most memorable season ever.
